The Percussion Department is proud to present Master Drummer, Percussionist, Composer and Bandleader, Andrew Cyrille, in a virtual clinic discussion hosted by Percussion Department Chair Yoron Israel.
Mr. Cyrille will demonstrate and examine various subtleties of jazz drumming, as well as discuss monumental historical developments, musical nuances, and the current relevance of the Avant-Garde idiom. A musical genre often defined as "urban instrumental protest music that grew out of the civil unrest of the 1960's in America."
