COMMUNITY CONVERSATION Painting a fresh picture: Accountability on inclusivity in the arts

ABOUT THE EVENT

After a challenging year for arts organizations with many unable to welcome in the community or operating under strict restrictions, an opportunity exists to reopen with new priorities in place around cultural equity. Audiences and visitors are seeking accountability from organizations and proof of action versus idealistic promises. A fresh start for the arts means reexamining the role these organizations play in advocating for inclusivity and the value of providing equal access to a vibrant creative life for all. Culture columnist Jeneé Osterheldt will lead this conversation with voices from the local arts community including Harold Steward of The Theater Offensive, Che Anderson of the Mass Cultural Council, Catherine Morris of BAMS Fest, Inc., and Makeeba McCreary of MFA Boston.
